Order Up: X-RATED!!!!Bachlorette for Rosie!!

NOTE:  If you have children sitting around you...you probably don't want to continue reading until after their bedtime...or you may be having the birds and bees convo sooner ;)

The order:
2 Dozen Mini Chub Rub
1 Dozen Vanilla
This order really pushed our limits ;)  A friend, Tina, who I work with was hosting a bachlorette party for her sister Rosie who was described as "very modest and not into the whole penis decorations at all! And to that, Tina wanted to get her cupcakes decorated like the male anatomy!

After thinking about how to make the decorations (chocolate candy molds, the picks that you can buy at the store)...and to date other than the picks, the cupcakes are 100% edible...so I figured why not try something with buttercream?  And if I'm being honest, I filled up a piping bag and didn't attach the tip on it correctly, and a mound of icing fell out...in the shape of, you guessed it!

So I decided to use a large round tip, and voila - all shapes and sizes ;)  To be extra gross (hey why not, we had free artistic range...and it really was just buttercream!) we decided to add some hair!

After I completed the cupcakes, I decided to terrify Rich (my fiance for, oh not even 24 hours ;) and ran in and asked him what he thought.  He screamed "AH GET THAT THING AWAY FROM ME".  I knew I did good!

Congrats Rosie!  I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating and enjoyed your X-Rated cupcakes!

Order Up: Bye Bye Boobies!

The order:
2 Dozen Mini Take Pride

Ok, so this is going to be note a normal post!  Our Cupcake Gremlin, aka Angie contacted us about doing an order for a party she was hosting for her friend - psssh no problem at all!  Well this time the theme of the party was a little different than we are used to making for Ang!

This time, she was hosting a party for her friend who made the decision to have a breast reduction and wanted to know if we could decorate them to look like boobies!!!  Ummm heck yeah!

However, on a serious note:  Breast reduction should not be taken lightly.   I know a few people in my life who have had this done or contemplating it.  Yes, most women are always lusting after bigger boobs, etc, however those who have had or deal with larger breasts are sometimes at a health risk for back pain, scoliosis, or other factors that can impact their day to day life.  So if you hear of someone who is having it done, don't tell them they are crazy or "I wish I had your big boobs" - you don't know the struggles they have to go through!
/end soapbox

Now onto the goodies!  Since I was baking for a personal order that day and I love Ang, I added in a few more cupcakes for her!  Check out all of the different designs we were able to create!
Boobies comes in many shapes and sizes...

No two boobs are the same right?

Sometimes boobies come pierced!

Tata for now!
Afterwards, we saw that all was well with the surgery and recovery is underway!  Bye bye boooooobies!

Order Up:Pink or Blue Gender Reveal!

The Order:
3 dozen Vanilla Cupcakes

A few weeks ago, one of our awesome customers sent us an email that she was pregnant and was planning a gender reveal party.  <Insert crazy amounts of excitement!>  This was so sweet and I was so happy for Christine and her hubby!

She wanted to know if I would be able to do the cupcakes for the party, topping some cupcakes with blue frosting, some with pink, and then having one cake contain the "gender" color! She told me that she wasn't sure if she was going to find out at the ultrasound, but that I would find out from her or her best friend.

About a week before the party, Christine emailed me to let me know what color to put inside...however I had already spoke with her best friend Lohanny where she gave me the real scoop!  We planned a way to surprise Christine by creating 2 "reveal" cupcakes.  One to prank her, one with the real gender!

"Gender" cupcake

The "real" gender
I am not going to lie - this one was tough...Christine has been such an AWESOME customer to us over the last year that tricking made me a little nervous - but at the end of the day, it was all going to work out! Here are some pictures of the cupcakes before they left!
All wrapped up and ready to go!
This holds the key to the gender!!!
Andddd how awesome is it that our customer send us pictures of the cupcakes at their events?  I love love love it!

Maybe there will be a special delivery for momma when she delivers! Congratulations Christine and Chino - we couldn't be happier for you!

Order Up: Happy 2nd Birthday Brendan!

The order:
1 Jumbo Chocolate Cupcake, decorated to look like Elmo

One of our friends sent Rich a text to ask if we would be able to make a jumbo cupcake that looked like Elmo...of course we love making Elmo! But the jumbo cupcake? Yikes, the last one we made, it was a disaster and I almost had a nervous breakdown.

However piping Elmo's 'fur' uses a different method so I decided to go for it!

As the cupcake baked, I made the frostings and dyed it red. Deciding what to use for the smile was easy Oreo cookies! For the eyes, jumbo marshmallows did the trick and the nose was made from orange frosting :)

As the cupcake was frosted to get it to 'stick' together, the inside was piped with chocolate buttercream(and a handful of chocolate chips ;) then all the fur was piped, all the facial features attached and away he went!

Frank was awesome and came to pick up the cupcake too, as it was a crazy weekend!

Happy 2nd Birthday Brendan! Hope you enjoyed your chocolate cupcake!

Order Up: Happy 14th Birthday Sabrina!!

The Order:
1 Vanilla Sampler
1 Chocolate Sampler

A few weeks ago, I got an email from Jessica inquiring about a placing a cupcake order to sample or cupcakes. They had recently purchased cupcakes from a cupcakery in Paoli(I wont mention any names but they were 'gourmet')...and a the consensus was they were dry! Since we weren't able to connect, a few weeks later she emailed again requesting cupcakes for her niece's birthday so we were in!

In order to try as many cupcakes a possible, she order the vanilla sampler and a chocolate sampler!

Into the kitchen we went, cupcakes were baked and ready for delivery!

After 'Happy birthday' was sang to Sabrina, Jessica was sweet enough to send some pictures of the celebration! Look at the pretty smiles! I think we can say they were happy that their cupcakes weren't dry!

Happy birthday Sabrina!

Order Up: Happy 1st Birthday Scarlett!

The order:
1 dozen vanilla cupcakes
2 dozen mini Oreo Oh
2 dozen mini Reese's Love

Yay! I was waiting to make these cupcakes for months! My friend Jen contacted me when she was thinking of ideas for Scarlett's first birthday party and the theme was Minnie Mouse! Ahhh yayyyy!

Jen ordered a cupcake stand, little cupcake picks, and then decided on a simple design (ears and a bow) for the top of the cupcakes! Into the kitchen we went and baked those little beauties right up!

First we made the vanillas for Minnie and Mickey, then the little ones were made for Oreo Oh and Reese's Love!

Decorating was easy, using red cupcake liners and just swirling the icing on top, adding chocolate disks as ears and a chocolate now we used a mold to make! Mickey got yellow dots instead of a bow ;)

After they were baked up, it was time to deliver them to the birthday girl! A little traffic and a detour caused us to be late a little, but we made it and delivered the cupcakes!

The birthday girl approved and ate the whole thing!!!!

Happy First Birthday Scarlett!!!

Order Up: Showers of Happiness for Kim!

The Order:
2 dozen mini Reese's Love
2 dozen mini Strawberries and Champagne
2 dozen mini Red Velvet
2 dozen mini Oreo

A few weeks ago, one of my mom's friends emailed me about ordering cupcakes for her daughter's bridal shower! How could we say no? My sister and Kim went to school together and played softball together! After a few times playing phone tag and emailing, the final number and flavors were complete and it was time to wait for the shower :)

Into the kitchen we went the morning the cupcakes were due and the baking commenced! Since the premium cupcakes come 'accessorized' there wasn't much to decorate them, so it was pretty simple! All the little guys were baked up, boxed up and ready for pickup!

Congratulations and best wishes Kim! I hope you have a wonderful wedding day and I know you'll make a beautiful bride! Hope you enjoyed all of your shower and the cupcakes!

Order Up: Congratulations Tricia and Robert!

The Order:
2 dozen vanilla with vanilla buttercream
2 dozen chocolate with vanilla buttercream
4 dozen mini Reese's Love
2 dozen mini Vanilla with Vanilla buttercream
2 dozen mini Chocolate with Vanilla buttercream
2 dozen mini Red Velvet

This order was SO fun...and also a first for us - our first international order!  Tricia contacted us before she was flying in to celebrate their wedding state side - in PA!  How exciting! We went back and forth via email to nail down the order, but it was so nice working with her and getting all of the details nailed down!

After talking with Tricia - they got married in Ireland and were having a reception for their US family here.  They had cupcakes at the reception in Ireleand and wanted them in Philly - sign us up - this was so so so awesome!

Into the kitchen we went for the crazy baking weekend!  It was a crazy time and my kitchen looked like a crazy bomb of frosting and batter exploded in it, but we got it done and all the orders completed!  Here's some pictures from the setup we did!

Chocoalte chip cake - thrown in for variety :)
Chocolate Chip Cake - Vanilla Buttercream!
Red velvet little mini's!
Red Velvet!
Colored frosting to match the different colors in the bridesmaids bouqets!
Colored Vanilla!
When I talked with Tricia - she must have mentioned the peanut butter ones a few times, so we definitely knew these would be included!

Reese's Love!
Little chocolate buggers!

Chocolate yummies!

Chocolate and Vanilla ~ Colored Frostings!
Whole table setup!

I do have to say, Tricia was such a laid back bride and looked lovely at her reception (which was held at The Irish Center in Mt. Airy) - and setup was so easy and the staff there were so nice!  They held onto the display pieces we used and called us to let us know when they'll be available for pick up.  So nice!

I did feel a little bad though, I had given Tricia a box to put aside so they would be able to have a taste - and they had to dip into her stash!  I was hoping we would be able to connect so I could give her a taste of the Reese's Love, but due to work and order schedules, I wasn't able to connect, but next time they are back on this side of the pond, I'll make sure to get some over there!

Best Wishes to you Tricia and Robert!  It was wonderful to work with you and I wish you many years of wedded bliss!

Order Up: Baby Shower Celebration!

The order:
4 dozen mini Reese's Love
2 dozen mini Strawberries and Champagne
2 dozen mini Red Velvet

I think this is the last of them! Our cupcake queen for June and July, Kelly got in touch with us to make cupcakes for her sister in law's baby shower! This was the crazy weekend we had making 4 orders in 2 days!

As we baked our little hearts out and got the order ready, we were happy to make this order for Kelly and her family!

She picked up the cupcakes and away she went! I hope the mommy to be enjoyed her sweet treats and the shower guests enjoyed!

Thank you for keeping us baking, Kel!

Order Up: Baby Shower Treats!

The order:
2 dozen mini Reese's Love
1.5 dozen mini Strawberries and Champagne
1.5 dozen mini Red Velvet

At this time last year, we were preparing an order for a wedding day celebration, for the bridal party to enjoy some sweet treat before the I do's!

This year? The mother of the bride Gail got in touch with me to order cupcakes for the baby shower! How exciting!!!

Being that the weekend was filled with a lot of orders, we were able to mix and match the orders so there was a variety! After a pretty long morning of baking, frosting and packing up, we took the order down to the Post Office(adorable little bar in Bridesburg: Northeast Philadelphia) to deliver!

Best part? Gail was wearing a shirt that said 'Grandmom 2012' - too adorable!

I hope the Mommy to be enjoyed her cupcakes, and everyone else at the shower!

Here are some pictures from the cupcakes!
