Order Up: Happy 2nd Birthday Molly!

The order:
1 Dozen Vanilla Cupcakes

Wow!  So sorry it took so long for me to get this together - I *just* realized that this blog was still in draft mode!  I'm so sorry it took so long!

A few weeks ago, I received an email asking if we could make Elmo cupcakes - which I have to say, Elmo is one of my favorite to make, so of course we were in!  Then it got even better, she wanted 6 Elmo and 6 Cookie Monsters!  Done and done!

Into the kitchen we went, baking away and making frosting so the coloring could set while the cupcakes cooled.  Once they were cool, it was time to assemble!

First up was pipping the "fur" onto the cupcakes!

Once that was finished, the cookies were assembled for the mouths, white chocolate rounds were made into eyes with a little bit of black frosting then placed onto the cupcakes.  Final touch for Elmo was an orange peanut M&M to give him a nose!

Can I just say how I love Cookie's eyes?  Every time I make them and they are crooked I can't help but giggle!  What do you think?

Thank you so much for your order and the pictures, Kathy!  I think Molly likes her cupcakes and hope she had a wonderful time at her party!!

Order Up: Happy 2nd Birthday Brendan!

The order:
1 Jumbo Chocolate Cupcake, decorated to look like Elmo

One of our friends sent Rich a text to ask if we would be able to make a jumbo cupcake that looked like Elmo...of course we love making Elmo! But the jumbo cupcake? Yikes, the last one we made, it was a disaster and I almost had a nervous breakdown.

However piping Elmo's 'fur' uses a different method so I decided to go for it!

As the cupcake baked, I made the frostings and dyed it red. Deciding what to use for the smile was easy Oreo cookies! For the eyes, jumbo marshmallows did the trick and the nose was made from orange frosting :)

As the cupcake was frosted to get it to 'stick' together, the inside was piped with chocolate buttercream(and a handful of chocolate chips ;) then all the fur was piped, all the facial features attached and away he went!

Frank was awesome and came to pick up the cupcake too, as it was a crazy weekend!

Happy 2nd Birthday Brendan! Hope you enjoyed your chocolate cupcake!

Order Up: Happy 2nd birthday Jaelyn!

The order:
1 dozen vanilla cupcakes
1 Vanilla Sampler

Remember last year when we did a first birthday party that was Dr. Suess' All the Places You Will Go theme? Well Christine contacted us asking if we could make the Elmo's for her daughter, how could we say no?

Into the kitchen we went, vanilla batter was made and cupcakes set to bake in the oven, then it was time to prep all the frostings and decorations while they cooked and then cooled!

First up, we decorated the vanilla sampler, then it was Elmo time! We pipped his red fur and decorated his cute little face!

Everytime I make these little buggers I love them more and more! To end this I'll leave you with a few pictures of the order!

Hope you had a wonderful day Jaelyn and enjoyed your baby cupcakes!
