Order Up: Baby Shower treats!

The order:
1 Dozen Chocolate 
1 Dozen Vanilla

Know what I love? When we have repeat customers who contact us for lots of different events!  Christine contacted us to have cupcakes made for a baby shower she was hosting - but the twist was instead of pink or blue, they decided on purple and green which I personally LOVED! 

We were going back and forth as the theme was going to be butterflies, once they figured it out - they decided on a smaller cake decorated and plain cupcakes to compliment!  No problem for us since chocolate and vanilla are pretty standard!

Into the kitchen to bake up the sweet treats, dye the frosting, swirl it on and deliver!

Can I just say how I love how this table comes together - especially with the painted background?!? How adorable and what a cute theme!

Best wishes for the new bundle of joy (who I am sure may have arrived since we made this order and are just now catching up on blogs...whoops!)

Order Up: Sunflower Baby Shower!

The order:

1 dozen vanilla cupcakes 

1 dozen chocolate cupcakes 

2 dozen cakepops 

Rachel strikes again! She contacted me a few days ago to place an order for her sister-in-laws baby shower! She told me the theme was sunflowers, so we did some searching online to find some inspiration and found 2 that matched perfectly. 

Into the kitchen we went! Rach and I had talked about using green cupcake wrappers but I found these adorable 'pots' that I was dying to bake with, so we used those instead.  Cupcakes were baked, frostings were made, and everything was cooling while we waited to decorate! 

Up first were the chocolate cupcakes in the little pots! I love how these turned out! 

 

Once they were frosted it was onto the vanilla! All boxed up and ready to go...and I still love our packaging! 

After the cupcakes it was time for cake pops! While I was frosting the cupcakes I had already made the cake pop insides and they were chilling in the freezer so I heated up the chocolate and started dipping those bad boys! Since my paper cutter went in the fritz when I was trying to make the flower to go around them, it was time to improvise with some yellow cupcake wrappers!

Order Up: Breakfast at Tiffany's Baby Shower!

The order:
2 dozen cake pops

A few weeks ago, my friend Rachel contacted me and wanted to know if she could order some cake pops for her sister's baby shower!  Now, normally we don't make cake pops, but it was worth a shot to me!

After spending some time looking up what the best way to make them were, into the kitchen we went!  cupcakes baked and cooled, then broken down into "crumbs".  Into the mixer they went with some buttercream frosting.  Then they were molded into "pops" and put in the freezer to set.

After that - into the melted chocolate to give them a candy coating - then time to top with different sprinkles and designs! What do you think ?

Also, since we had leftover cupcakes (and they can't stay in my house!) I packed them up and included those for some extra treats! Aren't the wrappers so cute? I may need to order some more of these!

And last but not least, I love when we get pictures from the events!  How adorable does this mommy-to-be look?  I hope you enjoyed your treats and that Baby Luca was showered with love!

I think this is the last of them! Our cupcake queen for June and July, Kelly got in touch with us to make cupcakes for her sister in law's baby shower! This was the crazy weekend we had making 4 orders in 2 days!

As we baked our little hearts out and got the order ready, we were happy to make this order for Kelly and her family!

She picked up the cupcakes and away she went! I hope the mommy to be enjoyed her sweet treats and the shower guests enjoyed!

Order Up: Baby Shower Treats!

At this time last year, we were preparing an order for a wedding day celebration, for the bridal party to enjoy some sweet treat before the I do's!

This year? The mother of the bride Gail got in touch with me to order cupcakes for the baby shower! How exciting!!!

Being that the weekend was filled with a lot of orders, we were able to mix and match the orders so there was a variety! After a pretty long morning of baking, frosting and packing up, we took the order down to the Post Office(adorable little bar in Bridesburg: Northeast Philadelphia) to deliver!

Best part? Gail was wearing a shirt that said 'Grandmom 2012' - too adorable!

I hope the Mommy to be enjoyed her cupcakes, and everyone else at the shower!

Side Note: This order was back in April.  Yes I am slacking, but life changes took over for a while, but now we're back on track and I promise to catch up on the blogs I owe from the last few months! I'm making it a daily goal for this week! (And as I type this, baby Jolene made her arrival into the world, about 3 weeks ago and is such a cute little munchkin!!!)

Anywho, back to the good stuff!  Karen, Lisa's sister contacted me when she was planning the baby shower and asked me if I could make cupcakes to be used at the flavors, and I was so excited to make them!  Since Lisa and Matt decided to keep Baby P's gender a secret, the theme of the shower was yellow and green - so cute!  The flavors were decided and then the decorations were going to be candy teddy bears with matching pearls the same color. The cream colored boxes were bought, put together and yellow and green polka dot ribbons were selected to accent the boxes!

The cupcakes were baked fresh the morning of the shower!  Once they were completed, we frosted all of the cupcakes and individually boxed them up - after they had the adorable bears and sprinkles added.  Once I got to the baby shower, the ribbons were added and they were scattered on the tables! 

It was such a nice surprise and so good to see Lisa being showered for the little one!

Order Up: Baby Shower Celebration!

A few weeks ago, my moms friend from work contacted me about ordering cupcakes for the baby shower she was hosting for her daughter. At the time she wasn't sure about the response and wanted to talk through some ideas for what we could do to make the cupcakes special. I had an idea of a diaper cupcake and then using toppers to tie in the theme.

Maureen gave my mom a copy of the invitation - which was an animal theme with the colors of yellow, blue and green. When walking through Walmart one day, in the card section, I came across adorable stickers with assorted zoo animals on them! They were perfect. I then pulled out the scrap paper, paper cutters and got to work!

Once they were done, it was time to hit the kitchen to finish up the baking. Since we already had orders for Red Velvet and Chocolate, they were baked. That morning, it was time to make the vanilla, chocolate chip and Weezy's Carrot Cake.

First up were the vanilla. One the batter was made and put in the oven, it was time to start the carrot cake. I shredded the carrots, mixed up the cinnamon smelling batter and voila into the oven they went.

As the cupcakes finished up baking, I prepped the frostings and piping bags. Once the cupcakes were cooled, they were frosted and boxed up.

This order was one that I was taking to deliver and setup. I arrived at the restaurant and they did a great job at making it look adorable! The cake table was set up and already had some decorations so I got right to work.

First, I setup the cupcake stand and put the chocolate frosted cupcakes scattered on the stand. I topped each cupcake with one of the cupcake toppers and made sure Mr Giraffe was front and center on the top!

Next up, I set out the cake stand, topped with cupcakes, then added a larger cupcake pick to each one, then tied around them with a polka dot ribbon in the colors to accent. The front cupcakes were topped with tissue paper pics!

Lastly, we borrowed a silver platter from the restaurant to display the rest of the cupcakes. I set those up, added the cupcake toppers and voila!

Order Up: Baby Shower for Team Blue!

The order:
1 dozen chocolate with light blue buttercream
1 dozen vanilla with light blue buttercream
1 dozen chocolate with light green buttercream
1 dozen vanilla with light blue buttercream

Last week I received a call from a new customer Erin wanting to place an order for a baby shower she was having for one of her co-workers. She wasn't exactly sure what she wanted, or how she wanted them decorated - so we got to talking and went with keeping it simple - tinting the icing light blue and green and topping each with a chocolate "bootie".


Since the shower was being held during lunch on Thursday, we agreed to a Wednesday night pick-up. Wednesday morning, before work it was into the kitchen to make the chocolate cupcakes and buttercreams.

The night before, Steph took the white chocolate and the mold to make the little booties...yeah, it sucks when you only have one mold that makes 4 and not enough white chocolate. So I had to cheat. On the way home from work, I stopped at Lore's candy and picked up some of their chocolate baby booties...worked out well since 1/2 were white chocolate and 1/2 were milk chocolate. And let's be honest, Lore's chocolate is delicious.

Once we got home, it was onto the vanilla cupcakes. It's funny looking back and realizing how quickly I can make a batter and bake the cupcakes compared to when I first started - the recipes that we tweaked become second nature now and whipping up a batch doesn't take much time at all (as long as I remember to let the products get to room temperature ;)

Since the chocolate were cooled from the morning bake session, I frosted those first after tinting the frostings. I love the way the swirls turned out and the little booties tied them all together! So here's the little chocolate monsters:

Once the vanilla were cooled, I frosted the remaining cupcakes with the green and added the chocolate booties to them.

Next up was packaging time so they could be transported home to await making their debut at the baby shower!

I absolutely loved them - mgiht be time to start experimenting with some chocolate toppers as well!

Order Up: Baby Shower!

A few weeks ago in early August I was contacted by my friend Barb's future mother in law Mrs. G. A few of her friends attended Barb's Bridal shower and she wanted to place an order for cupcakes for an upcoming baby shower. No problem at all...at least that's what we thought.

Mother Nature unfortuantely had other plans. In the form of Hurricane Irene. How lucky are we right? I spoke with Mrs. G and she let me know that sadly they were going to postpone the shower for a later date since the venue and everything else was going to be closed that day.

2 weeks later, I received an email telling me that the shower was back on schedule for September 11th. I just giggled because I realized that was the day after the wedding of the year - for Barb and Kev.

After having a great time celebrating at their wedding, it was wake and bake time in my household early on Sunday morning. And no, not *that* kind of wake and bake.

First up were the Reese's Love. I feel like I'm on autopilot whenever I make these anymore! Next up were the Oreo Oh Oh, followed by the Cookie Dough.

Once everything was baked and cooled, it was time to make the frosting. First up, the peanut butter frosting and get it swirled onto those badboys. I think my swirls are getting better...what do you think? It's fun to switch up the different tips to see the effect that you get:

Once they were done, I attached our signature wrapping to the outside and away they went to be stored until delivery. Does it get any cuter?
Once they were done, it was time for the oreo. Note to self: oreos crushed in frosting is not easy to use a piping tip...get thee a spatula and make an oreo frosting mound! Lesson learned ;) Once frosted, they were topped with oreo sprinkles and 1/2 an Oreo cookie:

Last but not least, the Cookie Dough time. I saved these for last, since they are a 4 step cupcake. Bake, Core, Fill, Frost. Since I was on a roll, I forgot to take a picture of the cupcakes after they were cored and filled, but know that there is a little nugget of cookie dough goodness that hides below the pillow of vanilla buttercream. We topped these with a chocolate chip,
and put them in their happy place.

Thankfully at delivery time, the rain and hurricanes stayed away and we were able to safely transport to the event without an issue.

We hope that the Mom-to-be enjoyed her cupcakes and wishes for a happy and healthy time until Birthday!!!
