Order Up: Showers of Happiness!

The Order:

1 dozen chocolate with vanilla buttercream

1 dozen vanilla with chocolate buttercream

2 dozen chocolate chip with vanilla buttercream

A few weeks ago, Marlene and I were playing phone tag - she wanted to order cupcakes for her future daughter-in-laws bridal shower.  After looking around on the website, she wanted the cupcake dress and was waiting for the final headcount to confirm how many dozen she needed. 

The week before the shower, Marlene called me to confirm her order and let me know that the colors were orange and brown and wanted to incorporate that into the frosting - no problem at all!  I headed off to Michael's to look for beading or flowers to match the orange and brown theme - and I found so many cute things! Once that was complete, it was home and into the kitchen to bake. 

First up were the chocolate cupcakes, then the vanilla.  While they were cooling, it was time to plan the layout of the dress and make the frosting.  Once the cupcakes were cooled and I was happy with the layout, it was time to secure each cupcake to the board with a dab of frosting - lesson learned! Once they were secure, then it was time to frost. Marlene had one request that there are no "spaces" in between the dress - no problem at all! After the frosting was complete and all spaces were filled, it was time to apply the flowers and beading!  This part is exciting but also a bit nerve wracking - when you're placing the beading, you want to make sure you place it right the first time so you don't mess up the frosting.  After everything was situated, I was happy with the result! What do you think? 

After the dress was boxed up and complete, it was onto frosting the chocolate cupcakes with orange buttercream and the vanilla with chocolate buttercream.  I love how the frosting color turned out!

A few weeks ago, I received an email from one of our customer's Erin asking if we could make cupcakes for her co-worker's bridal shower.  After checking the schedule I realized that I'd be traveling for "real" work...but then Steph stepped up and was able to make the order!

This order was especially awesome since she requested to have the cupcakes in the shape of a bride's dress :)  We've seen a few of these hanging around on pinterest and were waiting for the right moment to make one...so this was perfect!

Next up was frosting the cupcakes and adding some details so there were no holes...

Final touches of pearl beading and a very pretty brooch!

A beautiful collage of all of the shower!

My my my it's been a quiet few months!  A few weeks ago, one of our awesome clients called about cupcakes for her sister in laws bridal shower!  They were doing a sweets table and wanted to include our cupcakes!  After playing phone tag a few times, we got the order down and into the kitchen we went!

It had been a while since we were baking for a customer order, so it felt good to get right back into it!  It was a beautiful day and so happy we had a chance to make these cupcakes!

First up were the oreo, strawberry and vanilla cupcakes into the oven - then the chocolates went in.  Frosting was made while they cooled off and then the fun part of piping the delicious buttercreams and adding the final touches!

A few weeks ago, one of my mom's friends emailed me about ordering cupcakes for her daughter's bridal shower! How could we say no? My sister and Kim went to school together and played softball together! After a few times playing phone tag and emailing, the final number and flavors were complete and it was time to wait for the shower :)

Into the kitchen we went the morning the cupcakes were due and the baking commenced! Since the premium cupcakes come 'accessorized' there wasn't much to decorate them, so it was pretty simple! All the little guys were baked up, boxed up and ready for pickup!

Congratulations and best wishes Kim! I hope you have a wonderful wedding day and I know you'll make a beautiful bride! Hope you enjoyed all of your shower and the cupcakes!

A friend that works with my mom, Marsha, contacted me about having cupcakes made for her niece's bridal shower. After a few rounds of phone tag we were able to connect, finalize the order and get it on the schedule!

This order was another part of the crazy weekend of orders, but since this was a Friday night shower, it was easy to prepare and have everything ready!

1 Dozen (1/2 Chocolate, 1/2 Vanilla) with Buttercream Frosting

A few weeks ago, we got an email from Lynda regarding placing an order for a bridal shower she was throwing for her brother and his future wife. (Awesome sister award goes out again!)

She let me know the date (another order the same weekend as the tasting party - YIKES!) and that the theme was going to be christmas since they are getting married in December. We're always up for a little challenge ;)

After exchanging a few emails, we agreed that for the plain cupcakes, we would make them christmas themed - holly berry, red and white frosting and christmas colored sprinkles. No problemo.

Friday night - when baking the other order, this one was prepared as well. Since it was a crazy weekend, Gabby was so kind to roll out the fondant and cut out the leaves for the holly, while I rolled the fondant into little balls. I am SO happy with the way they turned out and can't wait to work on some more orders for fall, halloween and christmas! Ahhhhhhhhhh I can't believe they are right around the corner.

I took this order for delivery and when I walked into the hall - it was amazing! Lynda and her family did a great display on the tables with the centerpieces, the favors looked like cake pops that were decorated with gorgeous scroll work, and it was just so beautiful! She even had a cupcake stand and the layout of the table for the desserts was just amazing (wish I would have snapped a picture dammit!).

All in all - it was so awesome and I'm so happy with the way this order turned out!

A week ago, we took a call from Gail who was at the baby shower that we did the weekend of Barb's wedding and she wanted to place an order for the weekend of the tasting party for her daughter's bridal shower. Eeeeeeeeeeeep. But how could we turn it down?

I spoke with Gail a few times and she just said she definitely wanted the Reese's and Strawberries and Champagne and to make whatever else we wanted to that wasn't chocolate. No problem at all!

Gearing up for the tasting party, we had so much going on that being able to stop and concentrate on an order was wonderful! (Side note: Friday night my allergies were acting up so much that I had to stop and take a nap in the middle of the day because I was afraid I was coming down with the flu that everyone kept getting...so I was a little behind!)

Late Friday night - I went into the kitchen to prep all of the cupcakes for baking. First up were the Reese's Love. Know what I like about the minis? I don't have to unwrap them since I am able to use the unwrapped minis. Love.

After that, it was time for the Strawberries and Champagne and Red Velvets. Another cool thing? The order for later in the day on Saturday was almost the same, so baking the batches of cupcakes, I was able to get through both orders pretty quickly! Another blog to follow on that one!

Once everything was baked, it was boxed up for safe storing overnight and it was up early on Saturday to get to making frostings and frosting some cupcakes! First up were the Reese's...mmmm peanut butter. Since they were small, I topped them off with a Reese's Pieces. How cute? And the colors were perfect for the first day of October!

Next up? Cream Cheese for the Red Velet, topped with some red sprinkle accents and then onto the strawberry buttercream. Since these guys are so little, putting a full chocolate covered strawberry on top doesn't work out so well, so we put a slice of strawberry and topped with chocolate sprinkles. Yummmmmmy.

Once these bad boys were boxed up, they were set out for delivery and arrived in style! Congratulations and best wishes to the bride to be!

Order Up: Bridal Shower!

2 Dozen Premium Cupcakes

One of my friends Meg called me last week in a panic - that we completely forgot to discuss what cupcakes she needed for an order this weekend...I told her it was ok - I had her on the schedule but what did she need, it wasn't a problem at all. (Side note: She needed the cupcakes for Sunday, but her mind was occupied with the wedding she was in on Saturday night!)

Since we had other orders, I was able to provide a pretty good assortment for Meg (almost like our sampler packs) - so included were Reese's Love, Smitten Snickers, Vanilla with Cream Cheese and Carrot Cake.

She also let me know that the theme of the party was a luau - perfect right? I love the little drink umbrellas that we were able to add to each cupcake!

Look how pretty the colors are when they are all wrapped up and ready to go!

Order up: Barb's Bridal Shower!

1 Dozen Vanilla with Vanilla Buttercream
1 Dozen Chocolate with Chocolate Buttercream

It was a no-brainer to me when Steph mentioned to me that the 10 bridesmaids were starting to plan Barb's bridal shower that I would be making cupcakes for it. Barb has been awesome and commenting on our pictures and "like-ing" our status on facebook that I couldn't pass up an opportunity to make some cupcakes for her to try!

Since the shower was on Sunday, we decided to bake a batch of the cupcakes on Saturday night, the others bright and early on Sunday. Good thing I'm an early bird!

After the cucpakes baked and cooled, it was time to get to decorating. First up - Reese's Love. I needed to make sure these were perfect, just for Barb since they are the ones she has been drooling over! After that, had to get a little Chub Rub going - I forgot how fun they are to make...I mean really how can you go wrong with chocolate, marshmellow filling, topped with fudge and graham crackers? You can't...and it was fitting since it was so stinking hot that day and my chubby thighs were rubbing together!


Since I was not just baking for the party, I was attending, it was time to get packed up, get pretty and get out of there! Steph came over and took 1/2 of the cupcakes with her to get them there and setup, I arrived with the rest (after getting a little lost!) Cupcakes were setup and looked so pretty on the cupcake stands!

The theme of the shower was a luau theme, so we had to throw in some beach, ocean, and umbrellas!

Hello little fishes...and how cute are the sunbathing gummy bears lounging on their rafts?

And the results of the cupcakes? Tons of rave reviews - all 72 cupcakes were gobbled up...I don't even know if there were any crumbs! That definitely made me smile :)

These were kid tested (And could Joey be any cuter???),
and mother approved!
