Order Up: Congratulations Tricia and Robert!

The Order:
2 dozen vanilla with vanilla buttercream
2 dozen chocolate with vanilla buttercream
4 dozen mini Reese's Love
2 dozen mini Vanilla with Vanilla buttercream
2 dozen mini Chocolate with Vanilla buttercream
2 dozen mini Red Velvet

This order was SO fun...and also a first for us - our first international order!  Tricia contacted us before she was flying in to celebrate their wedding state side - in PA!  How exciting! We went back and forth via email to nail down the order, but it was so nice working with her and getting all of the details nailed down!

After talking with Tricia - they got married in Ireland and were having a reception for their US family here.  They had cupcakes at the reception in Ireleand and wanted them in Philly - sign us up - this was so so so awesome!

Into the kitchen we went for the crazy baking weekend!  It was a crazy time and my kitchen looked like a crazy bomb of frosting and batter exploded in it, but we got it done and all the orders completed!  Here's some pictures from the setup we did!

Chocoalte chip cake - thrown in for variety :)
Chocolate Chip Cake - Vanilla Buttercream!
Red velvet little mini's!
Red Velvet!
Colored frosting to match the different colors in the bridesmaids bouqets!
Colored Vanilla!
When I talked with Tricia - she must have mentioned the peanut butter ones a few times, so we definitely knew these would be included!

Reese's Love!
Little chocolate buggers!

Chocolate yummies!

Chocolate and Vanilla ~ Colored Frostings!
Whole table setup!

I do have to say, Tricia was such a laid back bride and looked lovely at her reception (which was held at The Irish Center in Mt. Airy) - and setup was so easy and the staff there were so nice!  They held onto the display pieces we used and called us to let us know when they'll be available for pick up.  So nice!

I did feel a little bad though, I had given Tricia a box to put aside so they would be able to have a taste - and they had to dip into her stash!  I was hoping we would be able to connect so I could give her a taste of the Reese's Love, but due to work and order schedules, I wasn't able to connect, but next time they are back on this side of the pond, I'll make sure to get some over there!

Best Wishes to you Tricia and Robert!  It was wonderful to work with you and I wish you many years of wedded bliss!

Wedding Love: Silka and Frank!

The order:
30 Red Velvet
30 Chocolate with Cream Cheese Frosting
30 Vanilla with Cream Cheese Frosting

Wow. Where to even begin with this blog.

First, I want to apologize for it being oh, 2 months late.

Second. This order was so dear to my heart. This event was years in the making and even as I sit here now thinking about it, it makes my heart swell with happiness. This order was for my best friend, Silka's, wedding. I've watched her relationship with Frank develop ,over the 7 years I've known her, into something pretty amazing. No it wasn't always rainbows and butterflies, but they made their relationship work for them, and I certainly learned a lot from it.

Now that the sappiness is out of the way, let's get to the good stuff. Her wedding was on a Friday night, which meant I got to take off of work and get up to NY. Thursday night was baking night and that went pretty smoothly...except it went very late so instead of heading to NY like the plans called for, Steph and I waited until Friday morning.

Upon getting to NY, we had lunch at her mom's house and took a little bit to relax since we couldn't get into the venue until 7 PM. Then the heat was on.

We arrived, got to the hall and got to frosting. While Steph swirled her life away, I was setting up the table and arranging the lifts and making sure the drapery worked. It was team in motion! Once that was completed, we arranged the cupcakes into their wrappers - red and gold - to color coordinate!

Now, onto the good stuff, the pictures!

Here's a picture of the table all set up!

Side view!

Cutting the cake! (Confession, I didn't make the cake, but bought a small one and decorated it with the leftover flowers used in her hair!)

Hello pretty little vanilla babies!

Beautiful chocolates. I loved these wrappers!
And I can't miss an opportunity for a photo op! From left to right, Isis, Silka and I...they are more than friends, they are my family and like sister to me. I can't even explain how amazing they are.

It was a wrap once we made sure the bride got her cupcake...I think that smile says she loved it all!

Congratulations Silka and Frank and may you have many more years of wonderful, wedded bliss...and cupcakes ;)

Order Up: Wedding After Party!

The Order:
6 Reese's Love
6 Weezy Carrot Cake
6 Red Velvet
6 Vanilla with Vanilla buttercream

I know this order may seem a bit whacky to you, but you have to understand, Aunt Louise (aka Weezy) is my aunt and my godmother, so whatever she wants, she gets :) We usually don't split the dozens, but with enough orders going out this weekend, I was able to make the orders and utilize any excess to get these done!

Anywho, Weezy emailed me last week, asking if I could make cupcakes for the after party of Christopher and Jessica's wedding - who happens to be her neighbor Cathy, who we've known pretty much our whole lives! Amazing when you see people who you remember from when you were little getting married - brings such a smile to my face. Of course, I was in!

After the meltdown on Saturday, I took a little while and went to rest in the yard with Winston, give myself a little pep talk, and get back to it. Since the wedding was going until 10 PM, it wasn't a rush.

First batch I made was the carrot cakes. I put a lot of attention into making each batch of cupcakes, but since I was making the cupcakes for the recipe creator, it was time to make sure they were extra perfect! And I must say, they turned out exactly how Weezy's carrot cake tastes! Once they were frosted with cream cheese frosting, I added green pearl details as the wedding colors were green and purple. And yes, there were more than just 6 cupcakes of each...I couldn't resist!

After that, I made up the Reese's Love and had the extra vanilla cupcakes from a morning order. I frosted the vanilla with a purple icing and added the same green pearl details. The Reese's speak for themselves.

Congratulations Chris and Jess and I wish you a happy future together...filled with love and cupcakes!
