Test Recipe: Success!

Request: French Toast Cupcakes

For the past few weeks, Steph kept mentioning a cupcake that tasted like french toast. No idea where it came from or why, but why not?

So it was time for some research. Growing up, some Sunday mornings, my dad would request french toast for breakfast and what I remember from having those is the syrup, buttery, sugar cinnamon goodness that it came along with.

As I looked at different recipes, compared notes with things that I've tried here is what was decided. A cinnamon sugar white cake and a maple buttercream frosting, but with french toast, I thought it needed a little "crunch", so we added a layer on top of the cupcake as it baked of cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar and butter.

These little bad boys tasted just like french toast. They were buttery, mapely (is that even a word?), sugary. It was just like breakfast in a cup.

The test batches that were sent to different places came back with rave reviews and that everyone loved them! A chocoholic that we have, stated that this was the best cupcake yet!

So here's our newest addition to the menu: Sweet French Toast!
